The body and legs are simple cubes and spheres with creatively applied edge loops to get their beveled shape. The wings were drawn free-hand with a pen tool to place vertices along the desired outline. The resulting shape was first extruded for thickness, and then offset to create the indentation.
The materials used are just minor tweaks of default materials provided within Modo. Rubber and gold received the most usage, and a colorful static texture was applied to the "eye" sphere to give the impression of a CRT.
Again relying on default options, a hexagonal pattern was procedurally generated and then converted into a displacement map, giving the wings an intricate honeycomb texture that didn't add to the model's overall polygon count.
